Hello
My name Is Jon King and this is how it all started. I was raised in the small town of Bliss in southern Idaho. Bliss is just off Highway 84 between Boise and Twin Falls. The town, for many years was literally on Route 84 before it was a Highway. I lived in Bliss during the 70's and 80's, at that time it was a very popular truck stop, probably due to the Circle Bar and Restaurant, Road Runner, Ox Bow, and the Y-inn Silver Dollar Bar and Restaurant. These restaurants were very well known for their small town hospitality and home-made foods. I worked in several of the restaurants and gas stations while living and going to school in Bliss. Our family managed one of the truck stops for several years becoming friends with the truckers who regularly stopped by. I even got to ride one of the trucks from Salt Lake City back to Bliss because of a family emergency - it was an awesome experience for me as a young boy.
In May of 2005 I was traveling to see some friends in Winnemucca, Nevada, and noticed passing trucks that were not loaded. I also noticed that they seemed to be mostly independently owned. The idea of a web site that could match up loads with trucks came to mind. I called, en route, a very good friend (Thank you Doug) and asked him to secure a name for my website. That is how LoadLift.us got its start and I know that LoadLift.us will serve you well.
